Hallo to the community once again. I have a friends Lenovo 3000 N200 laptop with a Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller. The laptop is running the standard KDE version and gets regularly updated but it seems that the graphic card cant enable the desktop effects. During boot it posts the following message:
¨conflicting fb hw usage inteldrmfb vs vesa vga - removing graphic driver¨

My /var/log/Xorg.0.log is:

Have you used PCC to set up the graphics driver?

Ok, did that, rebooted, still the same. What i noticed though that i didnt notice before is that in: kde settings>workspace appearance and behavior>desktop effects>all effects     the tab is empty instead displaying the available effect  Huh

I have that same message, pretty much meaningless on my machine.

More important, In the PCC control center double check that translucency (composite
extension) is enabled for the video card options, second, since KDE might use the
compiz graphics, enable that also if the graphics you desire don't kick on without it also.
You'll see the options in two places then.

Haven't used KDE for awhile but the above should enable all the graphics then for the
GMA 900's.

Post back if solved too.
