there is no such entity as non-biodegradable. what comes from earth can surely be returned to earth, albeit slowly. sunlight breaks the bonds in plastics, which then cracks and breaks into ever smaller particles. in the short term it can pose serious problems, especially to marine life, which ingests, but cannot digest it, leading to starvation. but, just as bugs have evolved to render antibiotics all but useless, so organisms will evolve to deal with our plastic waste. it's just a matter of time.

Radioactive minerals? I thought that all radioactive materials had a halflife? They do. Some are many thousands of years. But, I was waiting for jaydot to be a stickler for details and say non- biodegradable. I don't think minerals qualify. Oh, well.

And suddenly the plastics we use daily are full of mushrooms that doesn't knows which are waste and what is still in use.
