Hi, everybody,

When using Mozilla 9.0.1 , sometimes I want to print several pages from a web page. The first page normally prints, but the second page which should be duplexed prints the following on the back of the first page:-

ERROR NAME;
      typecheck
COMMAND;
     image
OPERAND STACK;

My printer is a Brother HL-5250DN and I am running linux 2.6.38.8 - pclinos1.bfs kde 4.6.5 (4.6.5)
All this is running on an Apple Airport network wirelessly and my wireless sender is an Edimax EW-7711UAn

My workaround has been to print to cups pdf first and then print from the pdf which is a little long winded. I hope you can help.

Many thanks,

I'd think this is a problem with Firefox, not PCLinuxOS or the printer....
=> with Cups-pdf, you don't use duplex,
only with your printer..... and that error

The error you gave apparently is a typical PostScript error....;
So:
What driver is selected for your printer?

Hi, rubentje1991

The printer driver is :- Brother HL-5250DN BR-Script3

The device url is :- lpd://192.168.1.70/PASSTHRU

The duplex is set to :- DuplexNoTumble

Please soon try updating to Firefox 10, and try again.... maybe it works (but I doubt it will)... - it normally will appear in Synaptic soon  Smiley

What happens if you try another browser (opera, iron, konqueror and others are available in Synaptic  Wink)
=> try to print the same page....

I'll try to explain the error (with the help of http://www.prepressure.com/postscript):
A typecheck error most of the times is caused by corrupted data....
and in this case it happened during processing an image.

So, there are several possible causes:
=> corrupted image in the web page: please try printing with firefox from a different web site with images... (as a test)
=> something wrong with the browser.... please try another browser (as suggested above)
=> something wrong with the driver, but then I first want to know the results of the previous 2 tests

Thanks in advance  Smiley

PS: maybe you can also try to print the same web page without duplexing... many tests to execute, I know - but I think they're needed - unless someone jumps in now and gives the solution at once  Cheesy

Hi, rubentje1991

I tried using Opera and Konqueror as you suggested and they seem to work fine. (I printed off the "welcome from the chief editor" which had text and a picture.)

Firefox still had a problem.

I checked synaptic for the firefox update as you suggested, tried it and bingo, it works!!!  Grin

Many thanks for the help, and many thanks to mozilla for the timely update.
