I have downloaded the full release of KDE 7 times on 3 computers and every disk I make will not boot. I can get Monty to boot and Mini with no problem.

Monty is to big and Mini needs more programs but it works great.

What I want to know is are can someone help me by telling what programs to add to make it like the full release.

I have used Linux for years but have never had time to learn how the files are setup. What I used was a already build RED HAT based Linux OS that you could not do a lot of changes to. You could install a few games, wallpaper and family pictures and that was it They setup a few music sites you could listen to and everything else was business. The software was for Inventory and Shipping and it worked prefect.

I am now out of that and want to setup my own system and learn more it. I have tried about every release there is with a livecd and PCLinuxOS is the one I want to use.

Any and all help needed and thanks for all the hard work and time spend on PCLinuxOS.

1. The liveCD image is highly compressed in order to allow 2+ GB of data to be burned to a CD, rather than a DVD.

2. When you do a download, you need to use the md5sum application to check the *.iso image against the *.md5sum file for that *.iso image.

3. Once confirmed that the d/l was successful, the image needs to be burned to disk at the slowest speed possible with your hardware, then the burned disk also checked with md5sum to assure it is a bit perfect match to the d/l image.

If the above precautions are followed, the disk should be able to boot properly on your hardware, the same as with the FM and Mini versions.

Of what use be there for joy, if not for the sharing thereof?

If you decide to build up your system from the miniME it's not hard.
The full system will be there for you, just add your applications via Synaptic, found in PC>Software Center
First update your install with Synaptic by;
-reload, mark all updates, apply, apply
Then the fun begins.
use the synaptic search button to find a web browser, check the box on the left to install, apply
Office suite, install lomanager (that is lower case L)
Run lomanager from PC>Software Center
Since you have a linux background you probably know the apps you like & can search them out via synaptic. Though your RH desktop was Gnome & your miniME is likely KDE. A gnome version is available if you prefer a familiar environment.
There are a couple of threads of the apps folks here add to build their miniME.
Let us know your progress.
