OBJECTS IN MIRROR... ARE LOSING

« on: January 25, 2012, 12:41:51 AM »

I read that Leiche is taking the responsibility of maintaining the LXDE iso's and I wish him the best but for now I want to thank Neal.

In 2009 I made a remaster with educative software and used LXDE, it was a hit between my friends and soon I thought in making a project for schools. The project didn't work as I want it but some Special Ed teachers installed it and used with their pupils. Then came the project of an Edu version using Open Box but many things began to happen around here and I just left that (sorry Melody), in the last months I changed job again and returned to Special Education, presented the project again and someone liked it.

Right now I'm installing an edu remaster using LXDE (people just seem to prefer that desktop and I won't argue with them), in computers with very low specs, my son is helping me and his favorite phrase this days is "I can't believe it" yesterday we installed in a PIII with 265 MB (minus video memory) 6.5 GB HD  and is running flash games and even some windows edu games through Wine  Cool

There is too much work ahead but none of this would be possible without your excellent work, your fine and fast support and your patience.

Thank you Neal

I can't contain myself. I must +1 this statement.

Neal, you have done an awesome job.

Listening to us and taking our opinions under serious consideration has lead to an almost "tailored" fit for those of us that like LXDE.

You have been doing it so long, I hate to see you turn it over.

I am however confidant that Leiche will do an awesome job as well.

Thanks Neal for all your hard work.  Wink Grin

Thanks, Crow and Rudge. Smiley I've enjoyed doing the LXDE ISOs, but the time for a new maintainer has come, and Leiche has proven himself with the latest excellent releases. I have every confidence in his ability.

Another +1, Neal. LXDE is the desktop I use on my goto main workstation. It has always been rock solid and dependable. With the fine additional tools Leiche has added over the months, the PCLinuxOS LXDE version has features you won't find on any other LXDE desktop. I don't miss KDE3 one bit. (Well, maybe just a little bit.)

Thank you, Neal, for the LXDE isos and for all your forum support.

I'm throwing my hook, line and sinker, Neal... let's see if I get my bass.

Oh, and thanks for LXDE ...

@Leiche, we will be expecting the same high quality from you ... and knowing you, YOU WILL DELIVER!

More power to LXDE!

And, of course, there will be a story in the mag, covering this hand-over ... right? Grin

Not in the Feb issue, since the deadline has already passed and the magazine is in the production stage.  Shocked
