It looks good! I've just used the livecd so far, but I'll install on my desktop in a few days.
Congratulations Leiche, and good job from everyone.

Welcome Leiche as the new maintainer of the PCLinuxOS LXDE ISOs.   Smiley

I've tried running PCLinuxOS LXDE along with another DE, PCLinuxOS MiniMe, so have some idea what to expect.
Speed !!

What is exciting, apart from this new release of PCLinuxOS LXDE 2012.01, is I have a spare Computer which I will install solely PCLinuxOS LXDE.

It's basically a Pentium 4, with low Memory; 768 MB's RAM, contibuting 64 MB's to Graphics. Sad
2.6Ghz Cpu, 40 GB's HDD. Hate to see good hardware just sitting around.
I feel PCLinuxOS LXDE a great candidate for this otherwise 'slow' Comp. I'm truly excited  Cheesy

Hopefully, you enjoy our latest creation...  Wink

My teacher is strict... Grin

I'm glad you said that  Wink  Cheesy

Best wishes to Neal also who has new more complex duties around here to deal with.

That is a perfectly good computer. My son just installed in a Compaq with a PIII processor and it was very slow, I believed it was the Matrox video card and after several intended solutions we discovered that it just have 128 MB, the other slot has a dummy card Huh

Yep, if you choose your Distro comparative to your hardware you're utilising what the general consumer thinks is junk.
I don't believe any computer hardware should be dumped unless it's broken, not just because it doesn't run some whizz bang OS. We have choices  Wink

I dumped one in the last few days .......  an IBM 686 P200 CPU on a motherboard with 3x ISA & 3 x PCI slots  Cheesy
Also dumped some ISA cards along with it, including an expansion card to attach extra IDE drives  Cheesy

There comes a time when hardware has no real use anymore.
Lots of better discarded hardware available than that old gear.

My present main machine is a 4 core XPS Dell .......  which was discarded because the owner was having trouble and reckoned the motherboard was faulty.
It has never given an ounce of problems here ....  working for a year quite nicely - thank you  Cheesy

Maybe you're not an angel, but LXDE 2012.01 is truly angelic.

Great work.

Loving LXDE 2012.01. As I commented above I've had opportunity to install on a dedicated (Single) Computer.

I still play games with my Son on a 386 IBM Compatible Comp with a 1GB HDD, 8 MB's of RAM. I think it's universal that Software of a period will continue to please with Hardware of the period.

Please if you do have broken, or unusable parts of Computers, Car Batteries, T.V.'s, Monitors, etc., take the time to dispose of these hazardous items to a company, or local government service who specialise in safely disposing of this type of junk.

The Earth isn't such a place.
