PCLinuxOS LXDE 2012.01

PCLinuxOS LXDE 2012.01 for 32 and 64 bits computers is now available for download. A 64 bit only release will be available in the coming weeks.    

New Maintainer:

Changes:    
wbar has been added to the full version for eyecandy.    
Umplayer, and DeadBeef are now the default players. PCLinuxOS-Flv-Player and mencoder are included.    
XCFA ripping tool for audio CDs has been added.    
Some lx* apps, lxtemp, sleeptimer, alert_clock, shred-GUI, and systeminfo have been included.    
Gftp, Pidgin and Xchat have been added.    

Remastering Tools:    
mylivecd is included. You can use it to create your personal live system. There are 3 compression schemes available  for remastering your installation. xz maximum compression, xz normal compression and gzip for fast compression. xz max takes longer to generate the LiveCD but produces the most compressed image where as gzip will create a LiveCD fairly quick but the compressed image will be larger. mylivecd can also generate a LiveDVD with up to 4 gigs of compressed data. Usually a 10-12 gig installation will compress into a 4 gig DVD.    

Software:    
PCLinuxOS 2012 LiveCD comes with the latest versions of most popular programs such as Firefox 9.0.1. Due to the limited size of the LiveCD an office suite is not included but can be installed through the LibreOffice Manager after hard drive installation. Addlocale has updated translations and can convert a PCLinuxOS installation into over 70 different languages. The software included on the LiveCD was based on community feedback as to what the PCLinuxOS users wanted to be included by default.    

CD/DVD Burning:
Brasero is installed as the default burner software.

Jase, you are very right it is Awesome. I just conducted an experiment. I installed another distro's latest LXDE. It's not important which. It's very popular. After the install, it was necessary to open a Terminal and add 24 packages. I also had to use "--force" to install Google Earth 64bit. After that, I opened the package manager and installed 8 more packages. After that, I used the software center to install 3 more. Total 35 additional packages post install.
After installing PCLinuxOS LXDE 2012.01, I used the package manager (no Terminal necessary) to install only 4 packages to get the point as the other distro. How ossum is that?
