Just wondering what would be the best kernel for this Laptop when Dual booting PCLinux to maximize memory detection and usage ?

PAE, with or without bfs.

I don't know how well the graphics are supported though. The latest available is probably the best for that.

Another option would be the 64bit Test iso's but you'd need to weigh up what software is available for your regular use (plus it would depend on how comfortable you are using Test releases with all that that entails)

Got that laptop up and running using the 2.6.38.8-pclos3.pae kernel.

Everything is running really smooth and the graphics are doing well.

Just couldn't get it to connect wireless to the router but nether would my Compaq laptop
going to look for answers to that problem now.
