Crossover 10, Outlook 2007 & Gmail
«

I purchased Crossover 10 so that I could run Outlook 2007 (as well as the full Office 2007 suite) on PCLinuxOS.
This freed me of Windows.
But I am having a connection issue with the Gmail servers.
I have tried setting up my Gmail account (using the recommended settings) using Pop & Imap with no success- it just fails to connect. I even installed Internet Explorer 6 so that possibly needed libraries would be installed & available & this did not help.
Also, I do have an open ticket with the Crossover support folks and they are try to help, but PCLinuxOS is not a "Supported OS" - I suggested that they check it out.
So if anyone has any suggestions, I sure would appreciate it.
If I can't solve the issue I will probably install Evolution to check my Gmail accounts.
Thanks -

Hondo,
Where as this is not teh location for a crossover or outlook 2007 support (nor will I attempt to) perhaps installing fetchmail/sendmail to connect/fetch (but leave on server) your gmail and depositit into a mail folder format that outlook 2007 supports, fetchmail/sendmail are small/light and can work in the background I am not sure about the read ability of outlook but it may be an option

I installed Evolution for my Gmail accounts. It's too bad I couldn't get Outlook to work for Crossover 10 & Gmail.
