Hi Everyone
I have searched for days now  and been trying to get a Kodak ESP C310 printer working on  my machine that I have installed  PCLinuxOS  Openbox onto. I cant find anything on this printer and no help from Kodak either. I do have the windows drivers  for it though.

Any help would be greatly appreciated Thank You in advance.

The windows drivers are not going to help you here.  Kodak is not know for their friendly usage on a Linux system.  Neither TurboPrint.info or OpenPrinting.org support it.

There are drivers for the Kodak printers and I put a package request in a few months ago and haven't heard anything else about it. But, here's the Sorceforge page for the project:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/cupsdriverkodak/files/

This driver is known to work well with other Kodak AIO printers not listed specifically, including the C310. I tried to compile it and everything, but Checkinstall is broken (at least when I tried) and I'm funny about compiling without making an RPM that I can uninstall on my system, so it's a no go for me until it's fixed.

Thank you for the replies.
Ruel24 I don't know how to compile yet I'm still a newbie lol I
I have downloaded the files on sourceforge's site, but I have no idea how to install the rpm file in Openbox?
I certainly wouldnt spend any money on Kodak again.

Well, I only bought the Kodak because it was cheap and it was for my fiance, who doesn't use Linux. But, now we live together and it's mine as well. lol Otherwise, I'd buy HP. They have great Linux support.

The Rpm package from sourcefourge doesnt install on my PCLinuxOS Openbox either, brings up a whole lot of errors and dependencies that cant be installed.  I think I'm gonna throw this Kodak C310 out the window I will just have to wait and see if any drivers will become available.
I was talking to the bloke in the pc shop where I buy some of my supplies and he said hea has had loads of probs with this Kodak C310 printer too.

To use Google cloud I had to update the firmware thru a Windows machine. I tried updating the firmware thru Kodaks propriety software on a Windows 7 machine and it kept telling me the fimware has updated, then it tells me the firmware needs updating again, when I tried to set up Cloud Printing.  Did the update thing about 20 times.

I thought I would try using Google Cloud printing to print but it wont allow the printer to b installed until the firmware is updated. No wonder Kodak has gone into bankruptcy protection, now I see why no cust service and No Linux support Sad

Well it was worth a go anyway I don't like things getting the better of me. I will just have to keep watching this space Smiley

May I suggest to download the .tar.gz source package ?
And then compile it from source, usually source files are much more portable than RPM archives.  Wink
