My grub screen has suddenly changed from my familiar blue to look like a cheap chinese radio. I have tried using ezswitch to revert back to what I want but I just get a changes not applied error no matter which theme I try to apply.

Any ideas on a sure fire way to get my old grub theme back and keep it that way?

EZSwitch changes the plymouth theme, not the grub boot screen. Look for your grub theme (gfxboot-theme) in Synaptic, install it and reboot.

Thanks Neal that did at least point me the right way. I still had some odd problems with mixed up graphics after reinstalling but fixed that by rebuilding initrd. It also seems a good deal smaller than before which is always good.

I didn't know that about EZswitch. I thought it changed the whole boot theme. We live and learn Smiley
