Hi,

I'm using E17 but I guess for this problem it should be the same on other desktops...'cause everything else with the configuration panel seems to be the same and another problem is, this is my first printer and printersetup ever.

My problem is, when I try to start the "setting up the printer" option in more applications -> configuration it opens a window for maybe one second and then nothing happens and I see that the cpu or hard disk aren't doing anything

If I try to do it in "configure your computer" -> hardware -> setting up the printers, the print job queues it opens a black screen for two seconds and also the cpu and hard disk aren't doing anything.

Any ideas anybody?

Thanks in advance for answers and ideas.

Open Synaptic. Mark the packages task-printing and task-printing-epson for installation and install them. Then go to PCC>Hardware>Set up the printer(s).

Thanks alot, it has printed the test page rightnow Cheesy and the system now knows this printer...even WINE, impressive!

I had a look in synaptic for a package that might solve the problem but I did not found task-printing.
Now I know another important package Smiley

Thank you again.
