Hi,

I am looking forward to putting pclos on my new (well, not so new now) desktop shortly. I already have it installed on my secondary backup machine.
I was a fan of mandriva years ago, and still have it installed on my main backup server, and trialled it on the new desktop but it seemed like a lot of hassle to get up and running (2 monitors etc) so i never got very far. I have u***** on a laptop, which is the only gnome interface I have used, and have been impressed enough to leave it on there (must be 3+ years now) - got dropbox, and a 3g stick to work fine, but support for sound, the touchpad and hdmi output are not so good.
I also have a windows box (along with everyone else in the house) so migrating the likes of Raw photo processing and itunes will likely be the main stumbling blocks - along with other specialist software like DeepSkyStacker etc but VirtualBox will help me out there hopefully.

Look out for my questions shortly!

Thanks,
Matt

Search the forum, read the mag (pclosmag.com), ask your questions. Everyone's very kind here.

Enjoy.

There are several folks using PCLinuxOS and processing RAW images from their photo cams...
I'd suggest you to do a search for "RAW" on the forum (maybe you'll find something useful) when you got some time and want to dig in it further.... => there are some good tips..

But, before I forget, welcome to this community!  Smiley

Thanks rubentje1991, I have just found and installed RawTherapee - I'll give it a bit of test run. But first I must try and profile my monitors (yes plural, wish me luck!).
