After checking out Mint 9 - 12 and a whole room full of CD/DVDs of different distros (yes I am a hopper) I have discovered this nice little distro and found it would run on my most troublesome laptop (aside from my iBook) an ancient Dell inspiron 1525 with NO modifications including RAM the way it came from the factory a few years back. THANK YOU !!!!!

it saves me from having to revert it back to windoze XP

Welcome, bruceclarke96!!!
That's exactly why we all love this distro!!!!
I have XP on a hard drive enclosure (PCLinuxOS is on the other hard drive, and I use it all the time). I haven't used the XP hard drive since last July.... I put it in the desktop yesterday to do a building plan for Hubby... it spent at least 5 hours updating and restarted no less than 7 times before I could use it for the job Hubby asked of me...... (I really gotta learn how to use Blender!!!)
