I wish I could say mine was clean inside, but there was enough dust in there to grow a garden. Oh well nothing that can't be cleaned out. The front plastic face is scratched like all get out, but I should be able to still repair it.

In my mind,, offering a good deal is one thing but poor quality control like that is unacceptable business practice. I am going to give them the benefit of doubt due the apparent quality of the other shipments that were received and Paul's apparent past experience. If one were to conclude that 1 out of every (3 or 4) that shipped, was like yours (as this thread would seem to indicate) I would indeed be very skeptical. Just my thoughts.

Pinning down what CPU that is could give you a little more useful information. Some of the Pentium 4 chips at the clock speed you have supported 64-bit processing, while some didn't, for instance. All things considered that should be a pretty competent machine, regardless. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Pentium_4_microprocessorsWell both the ones I got are just 32 bit. What I don't understand is the specs were 3.0Ghz processor 512Gig memory 30GB Hard Drive Linux OS namely the big Brown edition well one of the two I received was exactly that, the other one had 3.2Ghz processor 1GB memory 80GB Hard Drive Windows XP

I would hope that this is not the norm for them. I would like to believe that it is just a one off issue. If one were to conclude that 1 out of every (3 or 4) that shipped, was like yours (as this thread would seem to indicate) I would indeed be very skeptical.
Just my thoughts.
I am willing to give them another chance to show me that this isn't the norm for them.

UPDATE: Well they did indeed give me a credit for $35.00 as they said they would. I did take the time to sand both units down and reshot them with Rust-Olemu Universal Hammered paint. I kept the two tone silver and black. I think it came out looking very nice. What do you think? Now all I got to do is find one of those nice PCLinuxOS case badges for it

That looks pretty awesome. I haven't seen anyone that had access to the PCLinuxOS badges in a while though. Good luck with that and let us know if you find them. I would kill for a few myself. Nice job.

I might just end up making some of my own. We'll see. I just sold one of the machines. $225 with keyboard, mouse and monitor. Geese, I wasn't planning on it, but it works out ok. I am going to go set it up tomorrow for them. Another new user/convert coming to the PCLinuxOS World. They wanted WindowsXP on it, but I told them that I did not do Windows and I would not sell it with Windows! If they really want Windows, let them buy a machine with it already installed or buy the disk and install it themselves.

This is a total success story in my mind. You have that something special my friend. You take lemons and instantly think "meringue" without missing a beat. I love it.

Well it is a big success, at least in the short term. It would be a long term success if they stick with it and don't drift back to the unenlightened side.
