There is a war ongoing, a war against Spammers, and others who would detract from YOUR PCLinuxOS experience

While we are winning this war, the enemy on occasion uses underhand ways in order to get behind our lines and attempt to work on the inside of the forum to distract and take up valuable time of the members here.

Yes, dear friends we have moles, these moles feed upon the goodwill of others and exploit it for their own material gain, whilst we the forum membership  run around answering their customers paid support questions with no kudo's to you or to the distribution.

This is a call, to the good, gentle and selfless members of this community ( that is YOU dear reader) to be vigilant and should you suspect that this unethical behavior is being exorcised  please use "report to moderator" button.

We thank you for your assistance in these dark times, keep strong and carry on...

And now a message to the Help-vampires and bottomfeeders that perpetrate these acts

Your days are numbered, we are many, we are legion there is no place for you to hide here

Thanks for reading

Jase

Thanks to Andy for the graphic LOL

Good call. For the last several days I have been looking for a way to maximize the useful life of this laptop which was designed specifically for that other operating system (sunk costs might be a suspicious bidness-drivel term to watch out for) ;-). After replacing a $20 Wifi card which worked poorly without proprietary drivers on two distributions, getting wind of one in particular which is very popular and creating distribution specific only stuff, I came across the PC LinuxOS!

Could not be happier with the results. Your team has done an exceptional job! Many thanks for making this available without up-front cost.

It is my hope to offer some level of service (and /or some $$) to your team in exchange sooner than later. Currently working out a few ongoing personal troubles, but can write reasonably and field some of the easier questions if asked or I come across one I can handle.

You might have warned the 'freeloaders' as well.

Your philosophy of making the OS last is great! IMHO the techno-churn is extremely wasteful of time, money and an ecological nightmare. So beware that the 7th version of that 'other operating system' has undergone a major kernel redesign of itself which combines address spaces and threading. It might actually be better at multi-core support? (Always the heretic.) Just putting in my $.02 and hope that the OS community is aware of this. Currently have another linux distribution operating a twelve-year old Dell desktop as well. Using it in concert with Stanford's protein folding computational studies as long as it will run.

To paraphrase Michael Douglass's character in some movie or another 'Green is good.'

Belated happy holidays to all and best wishes.  :-)

I can't imagine how would I make the difference between an ordinary help question and a "mole" action. Undecided
