Help please on unknown window.

Help please on unknown window.
Since KDE4 and the many name changes I have found it impossible to name or identify some actions, so I am unable to search for a solution. so please some one help, thank you.
An example My desktop is set to show the contents of the Desktop folder. If I right click on the desktop the window that pops up allows me to create a new folder, when selected the next window ( titled New Folder-Plasma Desktop shell) opens full size and bigger than the screen, I am unable to find a method to get it to open in a more useable form.
This problem is not just with this method, every action whereby a sub window opens is to big or off the screen.
As the windows do not identify themselves with meaningful descriptions a search is not possible for a solution.
I have held of asking about this problem for many weeks hoping some one could describe it better, but not so.
Many thanks for any help.

Pressing the Alt key plus the left mouse click will change the mouse cursor into the Move cursor. You can use this to move the window around.

Hello Ramcchu and Arcie
I have no need to configure my video card The screen resolution is fine. and I know how to make a window move.
I was very careful in explaining my problem the unnamed window is to BIG, bigger than the screen whatever the resolution, this same problem some times happened on KDE3 but a right click and re-size fixed it until the next update.
However with KDE4 it is possible to re-size but it is not remembered. On two occasions the window was so far off screen that it hung the system and only a log out and back in allowed me to carry on.
Many thanks
