What if it is a Samsquamch?

WWW
« on: December 12, 2011, 09:42:27 PM »

I installed an Augigy 2 PCI card into my rig and everything works except the ability to play music (MP3s) in Clemintine.

Videos play found & the system sounds are working correctly.

I have gone to the PCLinux Control Center > Hardware Config > Sound Configuration and "EMU10K1 (ALSA)" is selected. The 2 other options available are "audigy (oss)" and "emu10k1 (oss)".

Any help would be appreciated -

Here is a screenshot of the control window & the choices available- I've tried a bunch of them & none of them work.

Is there a way to reset everything that would enable the card?

The kernel is 2.6.38.8 pclos1.pae.bfs

The onboard audio has been disabled in the BIOS.

No HDMI video card- the card is a PCI Audigy 2 card.

do you have a video card with hdmi port?

The onboard audio has been disabled in the BIOS.

No HDMI video card- the card is a PCI Audigy 2 card.

In the screenshot, I see HDA NVidia, HDMI 0 (HDMI Audio Output), which appears to be the hub. Then, there are 4 ports, HDA NVidia, (HDMI 0) #3, #7, #8 and #9. So, you have HDMI audio coming from somewhere.

I have no experience with HDMI, so I'll leave the floor to T6.

Thanks but I decided to punt the Audigy card for now as I was really pulling my hair out.

The onboard audio is fine (driving my Asus monitor's built in speakers.

I just thought that it would be nice to use the Audigy card.

Consider this closed.

all you have to do is disable hdmi sound card bridge

there is a couple of posts explaining the process, it is just edit a couple of text files

i wouldn't change a audigy for a onboard sound card

i miss my audigy  Cry
