hello again

excuse me, is on this website or on other places in the web, some page/s where we could see a complete lis of all packages currently avaiable for PCLinuxOS, separate fro 32 and 64 bit?

Or maybe we will have to rely only on synaptic? And since I'm a very beginner user, there is a way to export the synaptic lis into a .txx file or something?  Undecided

thanks

There are currently 14,000 packages for the 32 bit system and 9,500 of those packages have also been compiled for the 64 bit repository. Synaptic is your app to see what's available. When some of the remaining 4,500 packages are added to the 64 bit repo there will then be an official release. Until then there is no support for the 64 bit testing release on the forum. If you wish to report any problems with the 64 bit testing release, that should be done here;

pclinuxos-testers@googlegroups.com

For every day use, it is recommended you use the 32 bit official release, which is fully supported on the forum. If you have 4 GB or more RAM, you can install one of the 32 bit .pae kernels to address up to 64 GB RAM.

Of what use be there for joy, if not for the sharing thereof?

Current 32bit packages.

http://mirror.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/mirror/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/apt/pclinuxos/2010/RPMS.main/
http://mirror.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/mirror/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/apt/pclinuxos/2010/RPMS.nonfree/
http://mirror.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/mirror/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/apt/pclinuxos/2010/RPMS.special/
http://mirror.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/mirror/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/apt/pclinuxos/2010/RPMS.updates/
http://mirror.cpsc.ucalgary.ca/mirror/pclinuxos/pclinuxos/apt/pclinuxos/2010/RPMS.xfce4/

Some packages will be 64bit only. Some packages will be 32 bit only so if you are thinking about moving to 64 bit make sure the software you use is available.

Ta Ta and have a nice day.
