Hello,
I am able to use my webcam with VLC, but not other programs such as Camorama. In the past, on another distro, I could use Video4linux to make adjustments.
But I cannot find it in Synaptic. Does PCLinuxOS use something different? I am a noobie, obviously.
Thank you for any suggestions.

Hi, use this mplayer tv:// -tv driver=v4l2:width=640:height=480:device=/dev/video0 -fps 30
Will it work? Video4linux is always installed  |

take this mencoder tv:// -tv device=/dev/video0 vcodec=h264 vb=1300 -ovc lavc -o test.mp4
will create a video names test.mp4 in your home folder...  |

No problem, if you like mencoder, and mplayer, search in synaptic for mymencoder  |

FYI ...... VLC also records and saves video and snapshots View menu and tick Advanced controls .... |
