I've been asked to install KDE 2011.6 on a friend's laptop -- much, much newer than mine... She likes the KDE version and is very prepared to get rid of the "default" OS on her system.
After installation, are there a few hundred/thousand updates, changes that need to be installed? The LiveCD I have was burned (successfully) in Mid-October. She's not anxious to experience a L...O...N...G wait to get started with PCLOS in a very current machine.
Should I download and burn a December version of the KDE LiveCD or just go for it with my October version? (If the latter, sending this message and awaiting a reply could have been the same as installing...

)
Thanks,
Far North
