I've been asked to install KDE 2011.6 on a friend's laptop -- much, much newer than mine... She likes the KDE version and is very prepared to get rid of the "default" OS on her system.

After installation, are there a few hundred/thousand updates, changes that need to be installed? The LiveCD I have was burned (successfully) in Mid-October. She's not anxious to experience a L...O...N...G wait to get started with PCLOS in a very current machine.

Should I download and burn a December version of the KDE LiveCD or just go for it with my October version?  (If the latter, sending this message and awaiting a reply could have been the same as installing...   Embarrassed)

Thanks,
Far North

Thank you for the quick replies. Proof-reading my message was a little... no, a lot lax. I do have the 2011.9 version... It was downloaded 13 October 2011 according the label on the CD holder. I installed LXDE on my system and will now put the KDE version on her system.

Will now boot her system with the 2011.9 LiveCD and replace all of the current "zeros and ones" with PCLOS KDE's...

This message has been proof-read by three pairs of eyes.   Embarrassed
