In theory, theory=practice, in practice ???

« on: November 30, 2011, 12:04:32 AM »

HI,

Just trying to get a little advice before I try this.
Installing task-gnome on OpenBox 2011 and
invoking openbox-gnome to start the Gnome
Desktop with the OpenBox window manager
my main question is would a separate user
account for Gnome still be desirable ?   Without
installing Metacity or having another full desktop
installed I'm reading a few threads where it might not be.

THX.

Well this sure was easy.   task-gnome-minimal
installed, booted right up, and works fine, but
metacity is the window manager not OB.   Still
has some minor font problems, the main reason
for trying it.    Give ZEN 2011 a try one of these days.

Hi,
Usually in GGM at login, you should find an entry which gives you the choice to start a gnome-openbox session.
