Important Announcement Concerning Current ISO Images
Due to circumstances beyond our control, we were forced to move the location of our primary package server. As a direct result, our mirroring structure was also upgraded to yield more rapid distribution of our packages to our mirrors. This has also caused the internal directory structure of most of our mirror sites to be modified, which renders the existing /etc/apt/sources.list file, on which the Synaptic package manager depends, outdated on all of our current installation images.
To overcome this problem, on any new installations from the current images, please follow the instructions given here

Burning an ISO image in Microsoft Windows.
ISO Recorder is a freeware tool which makes image writing available from the Windows desktop. Download and install ISO Recorder according to the instructions on their home page. You can write images in much the same way as under GNOME in Linux: browse to locate the file, right click on it, and choose ‘Copy image to CD’. This is the simplest available method for writing disc images under Windows.
