VirtualBox is a powerful x86 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use. Not only is VirtualBox an extremely feature rich, high performance product for enterprise customers, it is also the only professional solution that is freely available as Open Source Software under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL). Things move quickly online!  The Mozilla Firefox organization have already started spreading the latest Firefox version with version number of 3.5.3 to the official mirror servers. We snatched it off their ftp server and have made it available for PCLinuxOS members. The main Firefox  package as well as the language packs are currently shipping to the public mirrors and are already available on our premium server.

I’m a little late getting this out due to helping get the quarterly update iso’s prepared due out toward the end of the month.  The quarterly updated isos will get an updated kernel, ext4 support and all the updated applications and desktops. These will be the final updates for 2009 release. The next isos 2010 release due before the end of the year will feature updated toolchain glibc/gcc.  Anyway here are the latest updates to the PCLinuxOS repositories over the past week.

Gnome-schedule 2.1.0 – Gnome-schedule is a tool for managing a users crontab or at jobs using a GUI.

Lifeograph 0.5.4 – Lifeograph is a diary program to take personal notes on life.

KDE 4.3.1 released -  On 1st September 2009, KDE 4.3.1 was released by the KDE community. KDE 4.3.1 provides bugfix and translation updates and is a recommended update for everybody running KDE 4.3.0 or earlier versions.
